There are going to be some MAJOR changes here at The Double Pawn. As you know, the site is currently using a Content Management System (PHP Nuke). This system gives us a lot of functionality, the down side is that it takes more time to administer (something that I have less and less of these days). Also, the primary developer of the Chess program that this site uses no longer supports Nuke. I do not want to continue to redevelop the code to run within a Nuke environment every time a new release comes out. I have only received 1 $5.00 donation over this past year. (My time can be better spend doing other things)
So, I am going to be migrating back to the standalone version. What does this mean?
- There will be less additional content other than Chess (at least in the beginning).
- Themes will change.
- Arcade will go away.
- More time will be spent on a collaborative project (CompWebChess) that will benefit more people that just the people who use this site.
- The Chess options will improve, such as the Team functions.
Some of the features on our current site may come back at a later date (depending on feedback).
I still have some work to do on the default install before we move over to the new code. So, please check out the test site and give me some feedback
